Skirmishes are frantic, on the right map the AI is beastly, and MP is just as interesting if cheese-tactic as ever on GameRanger. Now, with a more nostalgic eye (or perhaps blindness) it is an incredibly enjoyable game and the campaign is great. At the time it was released the departure from Sci-Fi and its reliance on top of the line tech to run well really limited its appeal. Fantasy in setting but it somehow is clearly the same game.more factions with fewer units per faction.

Total Annihilation Kingdoms (only available on GOG). The maps might take getting used to but thereвЂ™s plenty of spectacle and depth here. It has only one faction but lots of strategies and gameplay concepts.

Planetary Annihilation Titans: made by some of the original mod authors for TA and I think a few original members of both CaveDog and GasPowered Games (developers of SupCom series). The vanilla SupCom FA community is and always has been stellar to newbies and it is pretty easy to find a match on Steam or through a Discord dedicated to it. The Steam version has active MP and with it the ability to get Forged Alliance Forever, a fan continuation of the game.while I do not like many of the FAF changes and how the community treated me when I first joined it years ago.lots of seems to have been a lot better recently to new players.
